Dandelion Dreams Under the Moonlight
Story Summary
The story tells that a kind-hearted girl named Lily saved a little white fox while taking care of her sick mother.
The little fox shook off three glowing dandelions and asked the little girl to plant them on the windowsill of the ward. As time passed, the dandelions grew up and released energy to save her mother!
It was not until Lily saw the dandelions flying on the roof of the hospital every time the moon was full that she knew the true identity of the little fox...
This story tells us: the importance of kindness and the rewards it brings.
Ten-year-old Lily watches fireflies every night.
She makes wishes on the stars since her mother is hospitalized.
Until one full-moon night, a silver-white fox limped into her rose bushes.
“Don't worry.”
Lily comforts the fox, wrapping its
injured paw with her father's
checkered scarf.
The moonlight suddenly condensed into crystal dew drops among the fluffs.
When the morning light stained the clouds, the fox's wound disappeared, and it shook off three glowing seeds:
"This is a moonlight dandelion, planted on the windowsill of the ward."
The seeds sprout quickly amidst the smell of disinfectant. Translucent flower buds bloom at midnight.
Each petal reflects the stories Lily tells her mother. The largest bud releases countless glowing points on the seventh night.
Glowing particles flow through the IV into Lily's mother's fingertips.
Nurses are astonished by the sudden improvement in medical reports.
Lily sees the silver tail of the fox outside the window.
Now, during every full moon, healing dandelions fly around the rooftop of the hospital, and Lily finally realizes that what she saved that year wasn’t just a fox—it was the ninth disaster that saw the guardian of the forest fade away.
